A series of world-renowned conferences with the slogan of "Ideas worth spreading". Held once a year in Vancouver (Canada) and Monterey (USA). The videos from the conferences collectively gather billions of views yearly.

This TEDx event is organized by a team of volunteers under the brand TEDxStPetersburg (guess where?) in St. Petersburg. The conference on June 2nd will be our sixth event.

The New Stage
of the Alexandrinsky Theatre
The new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre is an excellent example of how innovation can build upon tradition. The modern technological venue was created on the basis of the oldest Dramatic Theatre in the country. Over the years, the New Stage of Alexandrinsky has earned a reputation as one of St. Petersburg's main cultural and educational multi-disciplinary centres.


The conference will take place in a hall with advanced multimedia equipment, and the accompanying off-stage activities will take place in three additional halls and a spacious foyer.

The new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre is an excellent example of how innovation can build upon tradition. Stepan Khristoforov

Media artist, filmmaker and NFT enthusiast

Brickspacer is a 22-year-old media artist and filmmaker from Moscow, the founder and promoter of the crypto-art movement in Russia.

The artist works with brands and musicians in the format of collaborations, among them are works for clothing brands ADER and Reebok, TV channel 2x2, the Monster energy drink, the adventure shooter Atomic Heart, as well as directing music videos by musicians Slava Marlow and Little Big. Nowadays the artist is concentrating mainly on his own creative work; he produces video statements and canvases which have gone viral, amassing millions of views on social networks and are successfully sold on crypto-marketplaces.

Brickspacer was one of the first Russian artists to present and successfully sell his work on the crypto-art market. The NFT Bastards telegram community he created is now the largest Russian-speaking community with over 13000 members https://t.me/nftbastards. The first NFT-agency in Russia ARKA, which is engaged in integration of artists and brands in the NFT-environment, is also working under Brickspacer's guidance.

The artist is a member of the association "111" (reads: "one hundred and elevenths"). They are into extreme sports, drawing in the streets, writing music and creating content that blows up the web. Among the members of the "111" team you can see top media artists, CG-artists, illustrators, tattoo artists, photographers, conceptual clothing designers, musicians and other talented creators. Brickspacer does a lot of work with co-creators from "111", and the artist also tries to support the development of the creative association and help promote it.

In his talk, he will speak about his career as an artist, how young artists live in modern Russia and the future of contemporary art in the NFT era.

Kirill Ivanov

Lead vocalist of SBP4

Before embarking on his music career, Kirill dropped out of medical school and became a journalist, working for leading St Petersburg media outlets (TimeOut, Afisha), and even as a TV presenter for Channel 5.

In 2006, together with his friends, he founded the band SBP4, and in 2008 received the GQ award for Musician of the Year. SBP4 band is unique in its continuous stylistic metamorphoses and experiments: once Kirill even asked the audience to bring children's pouts and metallophones and to improvise together with the artists at the concert.

In addition to his music career, Kirill is passionate about the restaurant business: together with friends in St. Petersburg, he opened the Clean Plate Society restaurant and the Mishka bar.

Olga Uskova

Founder and president of Cognitive Technologies

Founder of Cognitive Technologies, which develops and implements software, including unmanned systems based on artificial intelligence. In almost 30 years of existence, the company has entered markets in three continents of the world.

From 2013 to 2016, Olga was a member of the State Duma Commission on the Development of Strategic Information Systems

In 2018, she participated in a project with Russian Railways to develop a prototype locomotive with autonomous driving capability, as well as the release of an industrial 4D radar for autonomous vehicle control.

Ranked among the best CEOs of technology companies by the international CEO Today Awards organised by CEO Today Magazine.

Daniil Fedorov

Chief Operating Officer

One of the youngest CFOs in Russian e-commerce.

In December 2018, Daniil's investment projects department closed the largest (according to CRE Moscow Awards) deal of all time in the warehouse real estate market in Russia.

Thanks to Fedorov's transformation, Ozon has increased its growth rate, exceeding the entire e-commerce market in Russia by a manifold margin. At the end of 2018, the company's turnover was up more than 70% on the previous year, and by the end of 2019 it was up 93%.

Nominee in Forbes' 2020 ranking of the 30 most promising Russians under 30 in the "Management" category.

Konstantin Sidorkov

Director of Musical Projects Development at Mail.ru Group

He started his first business at the age of 12, when he and a friend launched the online radio station Radio Premium.

During his five years at VKontakte, he became head of the strategic communications department, was one of the organisers of the city's open-air festival VK Fest, and launched the VK Music Awards.

At Mail.ru, he is responsible for working with labels and artists represented in all music services of the Mail.ru Group ecosystem: VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and BOOM.

Investor and co-owner of Duoband restaurant group. The restaurants of this group have won numerous awards (for example, the Harvest restaurant was included in the top 100 best restaurants in the world in 2019 by The World's 50 Best Restaurants, recognized as the best restaurant in St. Petersburg in 2020 and Russia's #2 restaurant in 2020).

Sarah Al-Dorani

Chief Marketing Officer of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC)

leading global and local marketing strategies in primary markets worldwide focused on brand positioning and FDI promotion

She played a critical role in identifying international alliances for the QFC, securing a membership for the entity at the World Alliance of International Financial Centers, which provides essential industry solutions to drive the next wave of economic growth. In addition, Sarah spearheaded the QFC’s first media partnership with a global media outlet, Bloomberg Media, whereby she oversaw the launch of Bloomberg’s first television studio in Qatar with the aim to develop an emerging media hub. Prior to joining QFC, Sarah worked in several prominent organisations such as Qatar Petroleum International and Qatar Foundation. She also served secondments as Strategic Communications Advisor in the Ministry of Finance and as Negotiator for the Ministry of Environment working with the United Nations Climate Change Conference. She has also authored several strategic policy reports during her time at RAND Corporation. Sarah is currently a board member of Injaz Qatar, an organisation dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. She holds a B.Sc. in International Political Economy from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. and an Executive Master’s in Strategic Business Management from HEC Qatar.

Polina Bondareva

Founder of the St. Petersburg Masters School

The founder of MASTERS, a private art education project focusing on one-year education.

Together with the Masters team, Polina has launched an online magazine about cultural life in St Petersburg, opened an art history bookshop with a reading room, a creative studio for children, organised themed tours around the city and registered a publishing house that will publish critical works by the school's teachers.

In 2019, Polina took her business to a new market: Masters opened its doors to students in Moscow.

Polina is ranked in the Sobaka magazine TOP-50 list.

Evgeny Kogan

Author of the Telegram channel bitkogan, professor at the Higher School of Economics

Investment banker. Investment educator.

Lecturer at the National Research University Higher School of Economics for 12 years, in 2019 he was named "Best Lecturer at the National Research University Higher School of Economics".

Dr. Asmaa Al-Fadala

She has been working in education for 20 years. Main focus of her work is identifying leadership skills in school students and education for business entrepreneurs

Nikolai Koshkosh

Contemporary multimedia artist

Multimedia artist.

Koshkosh's work is based on a youthful fascination with tattoos and graffiti combined with an education at the Bible Institute.

In 2020, he hosted the Hyperborea exhibition on Instagram, accessible through augmented reality filters in storis, while offline, Koshkosh's project High Note was exhibited at the Here on Taganka gallery

Koshkosh is also known for his media work, including a collaboration with Vogue magazine.

Alexander Shishkin-Hokusai

St Petersburg theatre and contemporary artist, participant of the 2019 Venice Biennale

A Russian artist from St Petersburg.

He has worked as a production designer at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Lensoviet Theatre, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre and other major theatres in the country. He is a multiple Golden Mask award winner.

Member of the Union of Russian Artists. In his works (Shishkin-Hokusai differentiates between them and his art) he tries to show the divergence between the external and the internal, which in his opinion is inherent to theatre. He describes theatre as a surrealist painting in his memoirs about his childhood.

Participant of the first Triennial of Contemporary Art at the Garage Museum, author of a two-hundred-figure installation at the Museum of Street Art.

Dmitry Selipanov

Golden Eagle award-winning pianist and composer

Graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory.

He collaborates with musical groups and artists, including Ther Maitz, Nina Shatskaya, Maria Tchaikovskaya, and others.

Dmitry's works include leading Russian films, independent films - winners of film festivals, animated films, trailers, commercials, musical performances, video games, etc.

In 2016 he wrote the music for "The Collector" with Konstantin Khabensky, and in 2018 he has already received special attention from film critics, becoming the winner of the Golden Eagle for his work on the film "Ice"

Dmitry Glukhovsky

Writer, journalist, screenwriter, author of the TV series "Topi", novel "Text", "Metro 2033".

Graduated from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

He became famous for his post-apocalyptic novel "Metro 2033", which, after being rejected by publishers, he put online. The book has been translated into 37 foreign languages, became the basis for three video games, and the rights to its adaptation were bought by Hollywood motion picture studio MGM.

Based on Glukhovsky's first realistic book, "Text", the film of the same name won critical acclaim, a Golden Eagle Award and a Nika for Best Screenplay.

HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani

Chairman of Al Faisal Holding.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani is the only Qatari billionaire on the Forbes list who has made his more than $2 billion fortune from the construction business, with no natural resources assets.

The FBQMuseum is one of Doha's landmarks. In 1998, Sheikh Faisal opened a museum in the ancient Qatari fortress of Al Samriya, which is itself a historical exhibit: 530,000 square metres, 15,000 exhibits collected by the Sheikh over 50 years of his travels around the world. Particularly notable is the Transport section including retro cars (steam engine from 1858, Desoto, Ford, Buick, Dodge, Chevrolet from the early 20th century), executive vehicles, carriages, wagons, bicycles and even an aeroplane.

In addition to museum activities, the sheikh's sphere of interest includes the hotel business - his portfolio includes more than 20 hotels in six countries (for example, the St.Regis in Miami worth $213 million)
